This project and business is a marriage of 3 of my favorite things: Vintage, Nature, and Programming

Vintage

Vintage resale is not new, but I felt there was an growing popularity and an underserved market in the vintage outdoor space; and so was born the attic.

Nature

I wouldn't proclaim myself to be an outdoorsman, but I've always had a deep respect for nature and its beauty. I got into fly fishing in college where would drive out to the White River on the weekends to catch trout. That opened my eyes to a more delicate half of fishing I had never been exposed to. Trout are meticulous and more clever than their brutish bass counterparts. They want things done and presented a specific way. Needless to say, I know more about fish habits and bugs than most.

The marriage of both halves happened after a friend started a similar model with vintage golf gear. I wanted to take on a side quest, so I tried my hand. It was relatively immediate success, gaining 14k followers on Instagram in my first year.

Programming

I never foresaw getting to bring this side of it into my business, but as I started amassing items, I wanted the sweet sweet stats. I started with Google Apps Script lead inventory system that transformed into it's own full-fledged inventory management app. It's a labor of love on all fronts.

Side Hustle Balance

I strike a balance between free time and side hustle, but never blur the lines of my full time work. Everything about this is done after or before I'm on company time. Building the software to where it is now has further enabled me the freedom to do that.
