Sedona

We decided to delay our 18 hour single-day drive back to Arkansas with a brief detour through Sedona.

The landscape was a perplexing array of rugged red mountains with more green painting the desert floor than I expected. The chapel of the Holy Cross was beautiful.

In just a short amount of time the flora changes dramatically from Phoenix to Flagstaff. It didn't take long for the scene to change from red desert to green evergreens. We stopped in Kachina Village at a Native American market and purchased some keep sakes.

The trip home after was so, so long. Time changes, delays, food breaks and gas stops. It was a 23 hour drive. But yeah, it was worth it.
